The Rules Committee for the Classic and PPR leagues have released their rule changes.

·         2021 Classic PPR/Rules Document

·         2021 Classic/PPR Summary of Changes

·         2021 ZFAC Rules Document

·         2021 ZFAC Summary of Rule Changes

SUMMARY

Rules in Common apply to all Zealots leagues, and are separated into two subsections:

I. Administration and Code of Conduct – These are unable to be modified by specialty leagues.

Category I changes are as follows:

LANGUAGE CLARIFICATIONS

·         Clarification of playoff language to better assist owners with understanding the seeding process.

·         Clarification of the process to be followed for contesting trades

·         Modified time references throughout the document due to the uncertainty of the NFL’s 2021+ plan for preseason games, season start, and season length.  All references to specific weeks (e.g., "end of preseason week 3") have been removed.  Each year, we will add the specific dates into the Rules Document during the update process.

·         Reorganized the Free Agency section of the Rules Document to better facilitate understanding of specific parts of the process and unite related information under fewer headings

ADDITIONS

·         Changed Conduct Review process to consider owner behavior within the prior 365 days, instead of the current season; also shortened the time frame for fourth offenses resulting in removal from the league.

·         Added Czar Responsibilities and Discretionary Replacement sections, and updated Commissioner Responsibilities.

·         Wording has been added to specialty league Rules Documents denoting the authority to retroactively clarify potentially confusing language, as well as ensure compliance with any previous year's rule changes that may have been inadvertently omitted.

II. Gameplay – These are able to be modified by specialty leagues during the formation of their rulesets, or by subsequent vote by the members of a specialty format (following the Rule Change process.)

Category II changes are as follows:

·         Created a plan for the league schedule if the NFL goes to a 17-game (18-week) schedule in 2021. Since the complete NFL plan is unknown, we wanted to address the situation proactively. As with Classic/PPR, ZFAC leagues would drop the doubleheader and play 14 single-game weeks.

·         Changes to IR to clarify who can be placed on IR.  ZFAC does not have mandatory activation so those specific clauses do not apply
