mmason Posted August 27, 2020 Share Posted August 27, 2020 (edited) 2020 ZFAC CONTINGENCY PLAN PRE-SEASON OPT-OUTS If a player opts out of the NFL season, we will allow them to be placed on the Taxi Squad before PayDay. Their contract will be modified to have a C after it. For example, if you have a $200-2021-V contract, the contract will be temporarily changed to $200-2021-VC. These players will have their salaries paid on PayDay, just as other Taxi Squad players. However, by nature of the Taxi Squad, they will not count towards the salary cap. You can view the current Opt-out list on the NFL website at https://www.nfl.com/news/list-of-nfl-players-to-opt-out-of-2020-season. If you have a player on that list, please demote your player and list the demotion on your league's ROSTER CHANGES thread. Currently, these players are being designated as (H) on your roster. EXPANDED TAXI SQUAD For 2020 only, we will be allowing 3 extra non-expiring PR contracts to remain on the Taxi Squad. Thus, a total of 9 contracts with a 2020-PR or 2021-PR designation will be allowed. All 2019-PR contracts must be promoted by Payday as usual EXPANDED IR For 2020 only, we are expanding the IR to 12 slots. Players designated as COVID/IR (C) are eligible for IR. These players are not the same as the Opt-out (H) players! We do not know if MFL will create a different designation at some point (as they do for IR, PUP, etc.) COVID/IR (C) players will have their salaries count as only 50% towards the salary cap, just like current IR players COVID/IR (C) players must be activated from ZFAC IR once they rejoin the team Players on the IR for "normal" injuries may or may not be activated, in accordance with our current rules. Up to two players may be activated a year. CONTRACTS AND SEASON LENGTHS FULL SEASON (At least 7 weeks of the season) Using the definitions established in the Zealots 2020 Contigency Information email, if the NFL plays a "full season", which means at least 7 weeks of the season, all contracts will be treated normally. SHORTENED SEASON (at least one week, but fewer than 7) At the end of the year, owners are given the option to extend any of their contracts by one year. We do not want owners forced to lose a contract year on a player they wish to keep; similarly, we do not want owners to be forced to keep players they were intending to release. This includes all contract types. There will be no V+ designations/changes for 2020 Taxi Squad will be expanded to 12 for 2021 Extension/RFA costs for 2021 would be calculated normally, so that they reflect existing salaries All contracts are handled normally. 2020 ZFAC CALENDAR OF IMPORTANT EVENTS Saturday, August 1 1. Commissioners send e-mail to league members to remind them of the upcoming mandatory Check-In period.Sunday, August 16 1. Deadline for owners to check-in for upcoming season.Sunday, August 30 1. Deadline to start a new auction will be 11:59PM ET on the Tuesday after the last Preseason Week 3 game (Tuesday, September 1, 2020). Any auctions started after that time will be removed by the Commissioner.2. Commissioners will turn off owners' ability to start a new auction in MFL. 3. Commissioners will change MFL setting to allow owners to put players on Injured Reserve. Sunday, September 6 1. Commissioners will process Payday · All players who have opted out of the NFL season must be placed on the Taxi Squad at this point · Any Taxi Squad players with a 2019-PR contract must be promoted to the active roster and assigned a contract, or released with no penalty · All Taxi Squads must have no more than 9 players with 2020-PR and 2021-PR contracts · All rosters must be in cap compliance, with active roster salaries and cap adjustments not exceeding $5,000. · Any contract extensions for 2020-V or 2020-V+ contracts must have been posted. 2. Commissioners will ensure all rosters are in compliance with salary cap and roster limits 3. Commissioners will reduce Practice Squad size back to 6 4. Syndicate czars will cut all rosters that miss this deadline. Thursday, September 10 1. NFL Season scheduled to begin.
