  1. Maybe IR rules for activation are standard and just cap relief limited to 2-3 players who are on season ending IR (like the second time McCaffrey went on IR you could request relief, or when it was announced Thomas would stay out all season).

Only thing I wouldn’t like about that is someone like Cam Akers. You would have been forced to promote him the last couple weeks of the playoffs, and that could have been a cap challenge for some to absorb that late in the season.

  2. I came here looking to bring this up so glad it is being discussed. This was my first year in ZFAC and I accidentally missed this detail.

I always prefer removing extra work from the plate of a commish so initially I preferred just to remove the activation limit.  However I see the need of a path for cap relief without making it an unlimited tool…especially if activation were to be required to avoid IR violation. And if you need roster space or cap space after a player is eligible, a path to stay in compliance is needed.

I would suggest unlimited activations without considering it a roster violation to leave a player on IR at 100% salary if you chose to do so BUT offer cap relief for X number of players during a season.  So instead of having the focus on how many you can promote in a season, make it about how many get cap relief (and must be left off the active roster for the rest of the season). I’ll defer to you all on how many players in a season is reasonable.

    Suggestion:

Allow unlimited movement to and from IR. Players on IR count 100% towards cap at all times and can be promoted to the active roster at anytime.

No requirement to promote (even if no longer eligible MFL designation) so a player can be left on IR.

A team can receive 50% cap relief for X players placed on IR in a season.  The owner must post the request for IR relief in the ZFAC IR/player activity thread at time of IF designation in MFL. (The commish will manually adjust the cap for that season). Any player designated for IR cap relief must remain on IR for the remainder of the season.

Why do we have to have a RFA anyway. Why not let the team keep the rookie after three years  fo another amount of years by raising his salary a percentage, and if not kept, drop him and he becomes  A UFA.

Sounds simple to me, But at my age a lot of things sound simple..   I do not know FFB as well as some.

    That makes sense to me.
